To accommodate their consistent growth, BlueVolt had the exciting need and opportunity to move their e-learning solutions company into a space almost triple in size to where they had been. Their move was just blocks away which made the transition easier for staff but all still applies when it comes to the build and move process!

There was a quick ramp up as construction had started and the move in date was set. The most urgent need was to get the security and cabling vendors sourced and contracts agreed upon to meet the tight construction schedule, as well as getting the seating and space plan finalized in time for electrical install.

Choice of finishes were limited to building standard but we were able to satisfy their creative nature with some custom features while keeping timing and budget on track. And with timing and budget restrictions, a designer was not brought in for this project so I had the privilege to be a significant partner in the space planning, paint, finishes and furniture decisions, which thankfully everyone was happy with!

In a move from a long term location, the purge and pack process can be overwhelming. With managed expectations and timeline, clear step by step instruction and hands on help, the two and half day move and set up was seamless and added to the excitement of walking into a completely functional new work home on Monday morning.

Best learning opportunity: Understanding tech infrastructure for a tech company.

Any hat I need to wear: My OCD was completely satisfied when I single handedly figured out and then executed the cleanest cable management plan for 50 height adjustable desks.

Funniest story: We’ll call this one the “most memorable”… Watching two 6 x 7 foot, custom made, 2 inch thick solid wood, sliding doors be carried up 4 flights of narrow fire exit stairwells. I still cringe thinking about it!
